Remembering Stan Boling

Alzheimer’s Tennessee and the entire senior community lost a good friend, steadfast supporter and true caregiver with the passing of Stan Boling.

It’s impossible to know how many people Stan Boling helped in his nearly 35-year career in healthcare, but we know how he touched our lives and those of the families and caregivers who depend on Alzheimer’s Tennessee.

Stan was a valuable member of the Alzheimer’s Tennessee team. He served as Chairman of the Knoxville Alzheimer’s Tennessee Walk, President and Treasurer of the Alzheimer’s Tennessee Board, Chairman of our Patient and Family Services Committee and Chairman of the “Caring Hearts” committee. His insight as a caregiver gave special meaning to this annual tribute to the unsung heroes who care for our elders. Stan Boling was both a community leader and a community servant.

Stan was very generous in sharing his time and skill as a nurse at Alzheimer’s Tennessee Walks. On those rare occasions when first aid was needed, his calm demeanor and obvious competence were just as important as the bandage or ice pack he applied to his “patient.” Stan knew how to make people better.

Stan Boling leaves a rich legacy of programs and services in our senior community that will continue to have an impact for years to come. And all of us at Alzheimer’s Tennessee will miss that smile of his. Rest in Peace, Stan.
